The Oxford Eye Course aims to prepare candidates for success in the FRCOphth Part 2 oral examination.
It is a comprehensive, yet focussed, intensive weekend course that is highly interactive and enjoyable.
Our teaching style keeps participants engaged with the course throughout. Places are strictly limited to achieve this.
The highest quality teaching is only possible in person; we do not offer a “virtual” option!
The course is delivered by examiners. It begins with detailed information on how examiners mark candidates, and ends with a group exercise that coaches candidates in responding to questions for the VIVA and the OSCE. We address a common cause of underperformance in the exam – poor communication.
The course integrates landmark clinical trials in ophthalmology and the latest RCOphth & NICE guidelines throughout. Pre- and post-course materials are provided.
Failure to recognise key clinical signs is another common cause of poor performance in the exam. The course features hundreds of the highest quality clinical images from Mr. John F. Salmon, course director and author of Kanski’s Clinical Ophthalmology. We integrate clinical videos to match the new hybrid examination format.
